Neil Etheridge "baffled" to again miss Azkals' Suzuki Cup crusade

Philippine national men's football group top goalkeeper Neil Etheridge will miss for the third straight time the Azkals' battle in the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup in Bulacan this year.

Etheridge, who was a piece of the group's Cinderella hurried to the Suzuki Cup elimination rounds in 2010, said he was compelled to ask off because of his dedication with English League One side Walsall FC.

"It's disappointing that the Suzuki Cup doesn't fall inside universal dates, however for as far back as years now I figure I have been utilized to not being included," he said in an announcement.

"It's baffling for me on an individual level on the grounds that the encounters that I picked up from that container rivalry when I was more youthful were second to none, the climate, the power and the groups pulling together to pick up triumph."

The Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan will have the competition in November, and Etheridge mourned not having the capacity to play before Filipino fans.

"The opposition being played on home soil obviously is considerably all the more baffling however there's nothing I can do about the amusements being held outside global dates so I do whatever it takes not to consider the circumstance, but rather doubtlessly I will watch and giving a shout out to the Azkals from England," he said.

The Azkals have made the elimination rounds of the biennial competition in its previous three versions. Etheridge forewarned about making light of the resistance this year, particularly that the Filipinos are drawn with shielding champion Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia in Group A.

"I don't think it truly matters what bunch we were drawn into, both look amazingly hard, perhaps with our gathering being marginally more troublesome. I trust the group need to truly take every amusement all alone legitimacy. Every individual amusement will be intense and have its own particular obstacles to bounce," he said.

"In any case, contemplating the semi-finals too soon might be a defeat. To start with the group should focus of escaping the gathering and after that have a methodology, playing both home and away, in the knockout rounds."

In any case, Etheridge is certain that even without him, the Azkals will perform well in the competition.

"The group have looked solid and strong in the past diversions that I have played in. I know despite everything we have a few wounds yet the squad has looked reduced and together with an awesome changing room environment which has huge impact," he said.

"The supporters in Manila will play another substantial variable, getting behind the group and giving a shout out to them, going about as the twelfth player. Our past home exhibitions have been great so I trust this can proceed into the Suzuki Cup."
